Aktuelles

02.10.2009Today Sebastian's exercise group will meet in S2|15 401.
30.09.2009Note that the lecture room for Thursday and Friday changed: We will meet in S2|15 51 instead of S1|03 223.
29.09.2009Note that I updated Chapter 3 by adding a section on the pigeon hole principle.
28.09.2009Note that I updated Chapter 5 of the lecture notes.
28.09.2009The (preliminary) rooms for the second week are:

Mo, Tu, We: S2|15 51
Th, Fr: S1|03 223
25.09.2009Until further notice, Sebastian's exercise group will meet in room S2|15 336. (This one has windows :-)!)
23.09.2009The lecture rooms for the remainder of this week are:

Wednesday: S1|01 A02
Thursday and Friday: S1|03 223
22.09.2009Since some of you asked for model solutions, I put online some solution hints for the first exercise sheet. You find it in the "Exercise Sheets" section of this website.
22.09.2009Since we were so large a group yesterday I tried to find a new room for today and thanks to Laura Cosulich and Prof. Herrmann this attempt was actually successful. :-)

Today we will be in S1/01 A02 (in the new main building, below the Audimax). Still we will meet in S2/15 51 (same room as yesterday) at 13.30 and then walk over together.
The new room doesn't have any windows but otherwise it is a nice, newly refurbished lecture hall with more than 100 seats.

I will announce the long term solution tomorrow.

Note that the rooms for the exercise class did not change and we will walk back to the math building after the lecture.
16.09.2009This is the introductory course for beginning students of the bilingual programs MCS and M&E. (Anyone else who is interested is also cordially invited to come.)

The course lasts two weeks, starting 21 September and ending 2 October.
The course language is English.

The course consists of two (equally important) parts -- the lecture and the exercise.
Every day there will be a lecture, where you will be told about different topics that are useful for your studies. After every lecture there will be an exercise class, where you will work in groups, discuss and use the things you learned during the lecture in order to solve problems and deepen your understanding. Moreover, there will be a tutor present who can answer your questions and help you with the exercise problems.
